I would just like to confirm, if I purchase a business class ticket with VA and fly on VA flights that are in fact operated by SQ, do I earn points & SC's?

I just read through the information shown at the following link https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Earn/Airlines/PointsEarn/index.htm and I'm not sure if I've read it correctly to understand whether or not I earn points or not. The phrase that concerns me is "Points cannot be earned on codeshare flights other than those operated by Virgin Australia or SilkAir. "

That means that flights you buy with an SQ code but are operated by an airline other than SQ or MI (for example: UA or LH) do not earn points or SCs with VA.

If you have purchased a ticket for a VA coded, SQ operated (or SQ coded, SQ operated) flight, you will earn points and SCs.

Thanks, I obviously didn't read it correctly.

VA coded flight will count as an "eligible sector" for minimum sector counts too. SQ coded flights earn SC and points, but do not advance your VA sector count.

Actually I was able to select seats. I got my SQ PNR from VA, called up the SQ call centre and they were able to allocate me the seats that I requested. To qualify, I did book in business class.

Or call SQ with your ticket number - it's a bit of faffing around as opposed to booking directly through SQ but as WP I value the extra points and eligible sectors.
