Earn velocity status credits but upgrade with KrisFlyer Points?

Hi

I'm looking to purchase a Singapore flexi economy fair and upgrade to business using my KrisFlyer miles. Am I able to do this and still quote my Velocity number to earn velocity status for the flexi economy fair (Velocity status is more useful to me than KrisFlyer status)?

I did this earlier this year. Bought SQ flexi fare and upgraded using some Lufthansa miles and e-Vouchers (actioned through the LH call centre) which were about to expire. I ensured our Velocity numbers were in the booking. I was fully expecting to raise a retro after the flight but the Points and SCs for the Full Economy fare posted to our Velocity accounts automatically.

Just ensure the Velocity number is in the FQTV field of your PNR before you fly.
