she has form with the airlines.

I wonder how she is getting back to PER.

I am glad they have taken a harsh stand with people in this instance.

OK so whilst I don't mind flying Y SYD-PER and its probably not the most enjoyable flight... it sure beats the bus on the same route!

Congrats to her on the ultimate down-grade!

They should have thrown her in jail. And fined her. Can't pay? Hard labour in jail. they should build the jails next to recyling plants. Spent your term fishing aluminium cans and plastic bottles out of piles of garbage.

On SYD - LAX last year in J I was seated next to a 'gentleman' who became intoxicated - QF just kept serving him scotch after scotch. Anyway I was trying to sleep and ignore him. He became frustrated with the IFE screen not responding to his touch (probably because his motor skills were impaired) and he repeatedly punched the screen and became verbally abusive. He didn't do this just once, but probably 5 or 6 times over a period of time before the crew came along and 'had words' with him. He settled down (rather passed out) after that. It was some passengers on the other side of the ailse who had discreetly reported his behaviour to the crew. I was somewhat gratified to note the pain of his hangover on arrival in LAX. :p
Joking aside though it was a situation that could have turned nasty and I did put a complaint into Qantas about RSA (never got a response of course).

KLM flight I was on was ready on the runway at YUL but we had to turn back to the terminal as a drunk passenger started screaming. The Canadian Federal Police was waiting at the gate and took the guy away. We ended up with a 45min delay but I wonder what happened to the guy.

I don't think the point is whether someone is or isn't drunk or looks drunk. It is how they behave that is important.

As for this person there is not much to be said. Not a fine example of a human being. I believe the right thing to do would have been to confiscate her passport indefinitely. I certainly do not want to be sitting anywhere near her on any flight....

Which flight? A MEL-MEL flight does not earn any SCs or QFF points! :p
