Had I seen this earlier I might have worn something other than sandals and shorts (already close to Brisbane at university) and looked forward to meeting new people, but I think I wont meet the dress code for a bar.

I didn't have a problem getting into any pubs on the weekend wearing shorts and thongs :mrgreen:

OP is looking to have drinks at a hotel bar so you'll be fine. Being it's a Rydges, you could wear anything as it's not the nicest hotel in the country! (IMHO of course)

I wish I could attend, but am abstaining from alcohol at the moment (once again ! ).

Not really wanting to be at a bar sipping soda water. Back on the drinks this weekend I think though.

I should be abstaining for alcohol for a long time. I hope you can make it to the next Brisbane drinks night on 22 April.

Sadly I will not be able to make it to Rydges tonight as I am not feeling well from over indulging on the weekend....

Sorry I missed this thread completely; for some reason I thought Southbank is in Melbourne so ignored the thread.

22 April is the date for the next Brisbane drinks, not sure if I will be there yet; have something else planned.
