If you're headed to HKG, might be worth trying the Langham or one of the Shangri-La hotels:

If you can afford to stay in those hotels, you're probably not concerned about earning double points.

Targeted? If so, then it's an odd bot that's sending the information out. Wouldn't it be best served aiming at people who are actually GOING to Hong Kong? Our flights with Virgin to HKG are in April, but we booked last October so I'm pretty sure Velocity would be aware that we are going.

We're now booked into The Intercontinental Grand Stanford, so can't take advantage of this perk. Though - it would have been nice to have had some correspondence from Velocity, at least to give me an opportunity to consider.........

...But it says you have to stay before January 28, so your travel misses the cut-off.

I only found out about it because I was looking at Shangri La for something and it came up as one of the offers on the Shangri La website. That was for a March booking so perhaps the offer is extended, unless that was just a glitch
