Is there anybody at Qantas we can talk to about getting the offer. Naturally the idea is to get us to fly more, and that's good, but I do need to plan.

They do it for their own reasons and on their timetable, not yours. :)Like op ups and yield management.
If it happens and you can take advantage of it, terrific.

17 years of QFF membership has delivered two DSC offers - both last year......don't hold your breath.

I suggest you have a look at the history here about DSC offers. This has been discussed quite a few times previously.

I posted a few days ago that a few of asked the question of the Qantas loyalty team when we attended a function in Adelaide recently. They were quite good at avoiding answering the specific question. The best answer I can offer is as turnip666 says and that double SC offers are done using the same dark science methods as yield management. There is actually a method of logic to how and what they do but it really is indecipherable to individuals.

My 6yo received a DSC offer when she failed to requalify for SG. Unfortunately, we were not in a position to take full advantage of this offer for her.

It's like flying Jetstar, go in with low expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised... thus, don't wait for it, just book as you do, if you then get it you can try make use of it, but if you wait and build up expectations, you'll probably be disappointed! :(

I would suggest some people near OOL/BNE had success recently getting DSC's offers.

Out of the four of us in our family my sons are at zero and both myself and Mrscove have have had one each.
Now that is not a complaint because we were both delighted to get one.
Double SCs for a three month period are lovely.

QF Member since 1992 (my ID actually has 2 leading zeros!) anyway never received a Double SC offer but received one in March for April to June travel

And let me tell you i have taken advantage of it! I have flights booked for June for 960 SC's :)

Yes when received they are wonderful. I requalified for WP in 20 days this year. Now have >3,000 SCs for the year.

 so that's why I turned blue and keeled over. Still, I've got enough travel booked to re-qualify for WP this year so not much to complain about really.

Would have been nice:(......getting close now!

Another data point:

DSC offer received 3 months before membership year end. Forward bookings (on QF metal) already enough to requal WP. No chance of Partner Gold.
No logical reason for my offer as far as I can see.
It is a dark science.

Two offers for me this year which has kept me at SG. Additionally, if the first hadn't of come along so early in my requal year, I probably would have just kept flying VA, so Q definitely earned more business by including me. With my year up 31 Oct, who knows I may get a third offer yet!
