Hi all,

Made a QFF Booking over the phone and the amount is 'pending' on my card twice, anyone had this before? contact bank? contact qantas? or comfortable that one will drop from pending with no action?

cheers, just never had that before with QFF
 
I’d wait and see what gets confirmed and if the other drops off.

If it was an online booking, I’d be more concerned but if it was done over the phone then perhaps they did an authorisation and then processed the payment (quite common at hotels).
 
Had the same thing happen to me on a recent reward booking. Carrier+taxes were double charged to my card, called contact centre and was told to wait up to 2 weeks for one of them to drop off, which eventually happened.
 
This can happen if you go express checkout, and then you then go and think, ooo, express check out, I don't want that, so you reverse and go back arrow, but its too late, once you have been processed with express checkout, pressing the arrow does not negate the charges, I got pinged 3 times once a few years ago.
Thought, ah, express check out, go with that, then guess what, express check out does not allow points + pay, which I usually do, it does not allow poli pay either, so guess what this muppety pooch did, yep, back arrow.....
The charges in the end did drop off, I also got 3 PNRs, ie, 3 pieces of paper with 3 booking confirmations, I had to phone up, and in the end the charges dropped off.
Not sure what would happen in the OP's situation, and the other colleagues it has happened to of late.

Totally irrelevant given the OP specifically said they booked over the phone.

Cool story though.

I suspect one of the pending charges will go away in a few days.

Hopefully no 2 etix ends up being issued in same names
But then you’d know if there was two emails, with seperate PNRs and different ticket numbers and two bookings under MMB.

So unlikely in this case but I’d be calling QF if that did happen.
 
its a bit weird, havent recevied an email from QF, if i try and get the itnieary emailed from QF it fails ...

but checking in Check my Trip and it shows 081 ticket number, and on Cathay site it shows ticketed
I have a similar weird ticketing situation. I called QF after BA changed a flight time to be moved to an earlier flight. Change was made and the Hobart agent sent a text based Amadeus itinerary. Check my Trip and BA sites show updated ticket numbers but if I request a PDF itinerary from QF it sends me the old itinerary with old ticket number.
