I never bothered to sign up for the Woolies card because l shop at Coles.

But then out of the blue today l recieved this e-mail from QF.
So it looks as if l don't have much choice as they are sending me one Anyway:rolleyes:

It's all presented in a nice little QF Gold FF box.
And requesting that l confirm my mailing address.
Here's the cut an paste below:

So what is your problem? Chuck it in the bin and continue to shop at Coles. I average 6 spam emails a day minimum and none stress me (though that little chap in Kenya is starting to whittle me down).

I assume you didnt confirm the mailing address in case it is actually phishing...

So they send you a card, you either use it once in a while when you’re at a Big W, Woolies, D¡ck Smith, BWS and whatever else they come up with, or never use it. It’s not like they’re needlessly printing a card for you, there’s hundreds of them in every supermarket!

If you spend over 30 bucks in groceries at Woollies instead of a printed voucher on your shopping docket (which I always forgot to have with me) the 4c per litre discount is recorded on to your EDR card which I always have in my wallet so thereby always get my discount of the petrol now.

I find Woollies have a better selection of dog food - the WOW brand which I buy instead of some of that Coles brand slop they sell in cans.

If something is on special at Coles that I want I will buy it there & use Fly Buys as they sometimes have competitions worth entering where you can win bonus FB points.

Anyway, each to his or her own.

Cheers

Oz

Not everyone is happy to be involuntarily signed up to programmes which they do not want to join. Not quite the same as a spam email

As far as QF garbage mails go, it is easy to get removed from their please spam me by email list by updating profile online; to get out of spam mail via the post it can be done but does involve phoning and getting them to update that separately

Yes l agree that l can just throw away the card.
and yes l already am blocked from QF's marketing diatribe
and always have been.

This has been the only thing l have recieved (online) by QF other than the monthly QF FF statement.
(which has always suprised me because l still choose to recieve my statement via hard mail & have never made the change by choice)

Now all of a sudden l find Woolies have been given my personal info without my consent.
My understanding is that it's a woolies card and issued by them direct not by QF
Even if l don't activate and throw away the card woolies now have my info regardless.
That what really peeves me.:(

Look, l don't hate woolies or anything, don't get me wrong!
but more and more Corp Aust is treating my privacy like a personal asset and l am the last one to have a say in how it's used.

If l had of wanted the bloody card, l would have asked for it!

Have they got your personal info - or will they get it if/when you activate the card?

Qantas are jsst sending out the cards you can pick up in the supermarkets to members who dont have woolworths contributing to the profit QF make via the FF program. Not much different to sending you a flyer.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Have you explicitly called Qantas to be removed from non electronic marketing; I was on do not spam me on the online profile but that doesnt apply to non electronic spam; you need to phone and explictly get added to that

Interesting, although I wonder if that is the actual case... will know shortly I suppose.

I'm not particularly happy that Qantas has possibly opted me into Everyday Rewards... next they might start sending me credit cards, or even Christmas card packs with "If you like these cards, please send $xx to X"

Oh, and they ignored the fact that my "Home" address is in the UK, but my postal address is in Australia (with postal being preferred). I would expect that it would mean no card.

I’d be quite happy if they sent me a CC, as I can’t apply for one with my lack of a job and income as it is, but I do have savings I could use to pay it off. So bring it on!
