Does earning status credits reset your points expiry date another 2 years?

If flybuys is set up with Velocity so that it trickles in 1 status credit per $100 spent at coles.

Will those those bonus status credits stop points from expiring?

I know that the entire velocity points balance expires if someone doesn't earn any velocity points for 2 years. So am just curious if that could be a good way to keep the account "active"

Whilst not answering the question above directly, the new 7-11 partnership would be an easy way to keep an account active with points posting promptly (i.e ~24 hours).

Yeah that would work as long as you have access to a 7-11. I doubt people from rural areas want to drive 3+ hours to the nearest one just to get points lol

That being the case you are able to redeem flybuys points for velocity points as an alternate option.

To answer the OP, I don't think earning stars credit has any bearing on points expiry. Points expire after some period of 'account inactivity', which is defined by earning or using points (as opposed to status credit). So, all you need to do to keep your account active, which means keeping your points alive, is to earn or burn at least 1 velocity point every 2 years or thereabouts. If I was to schedule it, I would aim for once a year as it is easier to manage; but that's just me.

If no flying, earning FB points, and then transferring them to VFF points is the only way to keep VFF account alive.
Earning SC from FB will not keep VFF points from expiring.
