Just looking at booking a points plus cash room at Changi. The booking page says "includes taxes and fees" but when I press the "more info" button it says 10% + 8.8% taxes will apply. Is this a specific Singaporean property thing, or am I safe with no additional charges?

The price at check out will be the price you pay.

Note, you can buy IHG points with a 100% bonus at the moment. May be cheaper to do that.

Yep that's what I'm doing; buying some top-ups. I just didn't want to get slugged for 18.8% on the dollar-equivalent rate at check-out.

You may want to inquire with the hotel first before booking.

If it is a city tourist charge, it may be added on to your bill at check out — that has happened to me before, but not for regular government taxes and charges (eg GST).

With IHG the taxes and fees not included in the initial price but always there when you actually book and it does say on the booking page this is the final amount you will pay.

Especially on points bookings (and the “pay” bit is just buying the top up points). But a prepay rate also is just that - prepaid (should be nothing to pay later).
