MrsF has just been offloaded from DJ469 after sitting on the plane for over an hour whilst they tried to get #2 engine started.
She is currently back in the lounge and awaiting further instructions but it's not looking good.
I can't see them finding another plane in PER at short notice and the only other flight out tonight is the redeye which is looking pretty full already....
As she is a Plat in J, she "may" get some love, but I think she will be stuck there tonight unless they find another plane behind the sofa or wherever they keep spare planes these days.

Ah well, there goes our dinner tonight.

Sad news, delays like this at the end of the week are the most frustrating thing about business travel.

What a drag - let us know if they put her on the red-eye or maybe can re-route her via MEL or SYD. I would imagine that the QF flights would be pretty full but she may score a QF flight home being a J class Plat.

I already looked at routings via SYD and MEL, but the PER-SYD & PER-MEL both get in too late for a connection to BNE.
If only MrsF had taken my advice and flown the PER-SYD-BNE flight.....
I have always said 7 hours in J is still better then 4 in Y.

On the plus side, at least if they do get the aircraft fixed or rustle up a spare they can still depart for BNE at any point in the afternoon.

If they were headed to SYD, once it gets ~3:30pm PER time they wouldn't be able to leave for SYD because of curfew.

You will have to resiest the temptation to use those famous four words*. Usually not well received.

*I told you so..*

I have already used exactly that term today....
And yes, I will pay for it.
But not today.

Well bugger me.
They found another plane & she will be boarding on 10 minutes.
Tip of the hat to VA.

perth is a key base for VA now, there is often an a/c having servicing done or similar. I have seen this similar situation twice in the last year, both times with a happy ending, so to speak...

DJ562 was cancelled last night too. Wonder what they did with all the SYD bound passengers. I myself got onto a QF flight this morning as I had a fully refundable ticket.

It doesn't help that one of the 330's is us and they are using an extra 737 to facilitate those services...
