Today I've come across some discrepancies between the VA site and the Velocity site/app.

The Velocity site displays my current points balance, the VA site displays my points balance "as of 3 June".

In the Velocity app I've had a couple of trips pinned to see how many points are required for each. Just logged in and have seen that my pinned MEL-HKG trip is "no longer available". The only way to use points to HKG is now in Y.

On the VA site, I looked up J award trip MEL-HKG to see that they are available......but now at more than twice the amount of points they used to be. Has there been a change somewhere? Is this to do with the latest news of VA/VS?

Oh wait, I was looking at the wrong column. Doh. I was looking at Any seat Business from "the business".

J award is still there on the VA site, but still not available as a trip in in the Velocity app.

I've noticed recently that I've been able to see business reward fares on the app (new to this so don't know how all the letter classes work), that don't show up when I search from the desktop site.

Seems funny to me because when searching for flights it looks like the app just loads the actual website inside it.

Which J trip did you look up on the app?

It does. It's the quick and dirty option for developers.

If I search for one-way Sydney to coughet, on 18/5/2020 I can see Business Reward fares in the app, but on my desktop all the business reward fares are shown as "sold out" on that day.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The J trips I’ve previously pinned in the Velocity app say “not available” too. I was just about to delete the app. I don’t know why there’s a Virgin AND a Velocity app, particularly when the Virgin app has my FF details in there. I only found out about the separate Velocity app a few months ago when they emailed with a promotion of 50 points if I downloaded it (big deal). But it’s terrible - it’s slow and buggy and redundant. I assumed the “not available” pin was just another thing going wrong.
