Hi All,

Playing around with some award flights on QFF, looking at SYD - DXB, in this case for 17/03/2021.

if viewed through cash purchase there is the following flights: 06:00 / 16:55 / 21:45.
if viewed through QFF award there is the following flights: 06:00 / 16:55.

what gives? do they just not have award seats on the later flight or is it something I would find availability if i called up or just higher in demand? Would mean a 7 hour / 16 hour wait in DXB for next flights.

Cheers

It really could be that the later flight is more popular and they don’t release reward seats. Could you book the 16.55 and check to see if the later flight is released in Feb/March next year?

You might get more responses in the Qantas forum.

Fair enough, yea was really just making sure that some more popular flights just dont get award seats at all or at least not right away

Award seats are not available on every flight. And on some flights are so limited (like just one or two) that they get snapped up the minute they are released. Closer to flight departure some airlines will release seats.

Does anyone know around what time EK release their rewards seat on a daily basis. From what I have noticed most airlines (well the ones I tend to use) seem to start to showing up from around 10am AET or slightly there after, makes sense to me as this is 23:59 UTC however EK rewards seems not to work the same. I am interested as I am looking to snag some rewards and the flights I am after are either currently not getting released on a daily basis or are getting snapped up before I start looking.

Think EK must be doing something with their IT or changing some schedules. Tons of award availability at lunch yesterday but last night I went on and pretty much zero availability and this was for October dates
