Stayed at the Hongta in Shanghai recently and had a meal at Danielli's, the Italian restaurant on the top floor that you will also see in many other St Regis properties (the Hongta was a St Regis until about 2 years ago).

15% discount was applied but the lovely Italian lady who managed the place told me as I was settling the bill that if I had told them I was a Gold at the start of the dinner I would have qualified for 2 free glasses of wine, and perhaps something else - although I already got a free squid entree as a hotel guest. A useful tip to consider for other SPG restaurants, she seemed to think most properties had an offer of some sort like that.
