Well Jet* have had a wee issue with wind shear in ZQN. Do we cant get to AKL tonight.
So having another night in Queenstown. It's a bittersweet result.

Well Air NZ made it ...... Just. And that was the last flight out. So we are on JQ at 07.30 tomorrow. So in AKL in time to go out to watch my old school play rugby.

NZ can generally get in/out of ZQN whilst JQ can not.

Well we're here as required. But in typical Jet* fashion, communication is poor. The 7.30 departure is now showing 08.40. There are 100 people queued up and one jet* person , it's not like they didn't know we were coming. But then this is the way of the LCC !! I think I may just suck it up next time and forgo the SC's and fly NZ ! I'm not annoyed about the flight delay last night. But I am annoyed about the handling of the situation this morning.

I have to say. The Bacon,Egg,Avocado & Tomato burger at Airspresso was really nice.
Coffee was good too.
There were only a few really grumpy people who felt the Jet* ground crew were solely responsible for the problem. But then I suppose there will always be a few.

There are way too many agitated pax here. Some over zealous girl is setting up a web page and is collecting email address's to invite the delayed pax to vent on line.
I'm not convinced about this. The problem was weather. That being said the air NZ flight that was due in at the same time landed without incident.
It would appear the real bug bear was the lack of compensation. Many feel that Jet* have dropped the ball big time. My additional costs are about $300.00. Admittedly we didn't need to go out for dinner ( we had a BIG Botswana Butchery lunch earlier) so it could have been worse.

Unfortunately airlines don't tend to compensate for weather. In fact QF refused to compensate for a mechanical delay recently.

Yes travel insurance (or self insurance) for weather delays. Airlines don't typically provide anything for this sort of delay.

we signed on to the web site for the grumblers, and have heard zilch!
I suspect the (over) zealous young lass who organised this, has lost interest herself.
