Hi all

I want to take advantage of the Delta airfares and get myself over to New York in the coming months.

I am playing around on www.delta.com and find that some of the connection times they offer are very, very tight. For example bw NYC-LAX and LAX-SYD, they are offering a flight with only 45 mins connection time.

Are my instincts correct in thinking this is too short a time? Has anyone else flown Delta and found the stated connection times were OK?

I would hate to book a flight and then get stranded.

Thanks, PW

Way too short, they'll be doing the boarding call for your SYD flight as your leaving the plane from JFK in LAX. (I've done that at LAX, it's not fun, it was also because my original flight was running about 30 minutes late)

If it was a flight where they have several of them a day from LAX to SYD I'd say risk it (as it's a connection offered by Delta) but given they only fly daily, you might find yourself spending a night in LA(x).

Thanks for the info.

I'll keep looking to find something that is suitable and won't cause me to stress. A 45 minute connection time will prob send my blood pressure skyrocketing - lol.

A TA friend of mine recommends that you allow yourself at least 2 hours at LAX. I've been there a few times, and it's always felt like a very disorganised place each time.
