I was looking to book an internal US flight using Delta (using Velocity points) LAX to SEA and +2 days SEA to DEN
A few weeks ago I checked and there were seats on every flight on the days I wanted in every class, seemed easy.
Now when I look it appears that only 3+ weeks in advance has unlimited availability, but both days I wanted are "unavailable"
Did I just miss the window or am I missing something else?

Thanks for any insight, advice or alternatives anyone can provide

Delta seems to come a go with availability and almost always never offer the best flight that i want.

And i think 1-2 weeks out, almost no availability.

You could try ringing VFF and ask if they will book manually

Thanks heaps
I did try calling with no luck
What it seems to me (and keep in mind I am a newbie) is that the points based offers via Virgin are only available more than several weeks in advance of the flight - after that they drop off and while you can still booking flights with Delta Skymiles, you can no longer do so with Virgin
Another thing I found with Delta is as the departure date of the flight get within a few weeks, the price increases fairly significantly

For both of these situations, if you look at the pricing for the few days before you departure date, you will get to see the change coming and can book before the price/availability changes
Hope this helps others

rule #1 with ff seats

If you see them book them. What use is checking to see if any if don't book at same time ? Availability can change in a 2nd.
