Cannot remember the name of the tour we went on but here is the basic itinerary : Bus trip from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji lunch at a place (name escapes me) on the way to the cable car (made by the mob from Cairns) that takes you up to the hot springs at Hakone. Then down again and a cruise on Ashinoko Lake on a Pirate ship (yes) before catching the shinkansen (bullet train) back to Tokyo. Absolute great day out :mrgreen:Japan.jpg

I'd just add that you don't necessarily need to go with a tour. You could quite comfortably take a train yourself. It depends what you want to do, of course, but I just wanted to mention it in case you're still not completely sure about whether or not to book a tour.

Thanks very much for your replies. Craven, that tour is pretty popular I gather as it is offered through a few different companies. Did you get a good look at Mt Fuji at all? From what Iv read, its very hit and miss. Doing it all ourselves without a tour is also an option. Id like to see the Fuji Five Lakes as well.... specifically lake Kawaguchiko.
