Has anyone had experience with these before, latest one today looks interesting although you do wonder with a free Grange on offer how good the mix is..https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_ER_1000003887_MYSTERYPACK6/mystery-mixed-pack-6

Welcome to AFF. It is perhaps more accurate to say that 1 in 20 get the Grange

The names of these wines won't be revealed until they're at your door, and 1 in 20 packs will also include a BONUS^ Penfolds Grange 2009. Will one be yours?

There is a way to find out what the wine is and I have done it successfully with a champagne pack before. Dan always puts reviews on the listing of the mystery pack and they are the exact words used on the real wine's listing page. Copy the review into Google and your search should bring up the wine that it belongs to.

Hope that makes sense.

Dale.

I did the $99 pack earlier this year and was happy with the value, though bummed I didnt win the Grange. I dont think theres really any way to tell what is in the pack...

Thanks Dale, RB Blackcat for the reply.

On this occasion the descriptions are quite short and no break down on each wine. I did start doing a search on JH based on the rating but with no vintage to narrow it down there were too many options.

"A serious red wine pack featuring prestige producers from some of Australia's iconic regions. Victoria showcases an elegant 96 point Yarra Valley Cabernet, a 96 point Heathcote classic and 95 point Pinot produced by one of the best. South Australia showcases it’s rich Shiraz with 94 pointed Clare Valley superstar. WA is represented by a 96 point Margaret River Shiraz and a 94 point Mt Barker Cabernet. The only surprise is how delicious these wines are."

Thanks

Tim

The fact that there's no vintages listed makes me a little nervous. And I half suspect they don't give anyone the Grange and rely on the fact that nobody is going to get together to talk about it - but would happily be proved wrong on that point!

Yeah I agree, I'm not comfortable enough to spend $199 at this point. I could always order 20 of the packs to see if I get one.

Do Dans have a good return policy? Order 20, 30 or 40 and return all those with out a Grange.....

(only joking...)

Noting this:

'Dan Murphy's Connections products are sent directly from our suppliers, which is why you won't find them in your local store.'

This means DM never touches the products. Does this mean that the wines are from Penfolds as this is where the Grange would come from?

I have had 3 of the $199 packs over the last year. The wines were all nice, but all pretty cheap, so - as you would expect - you are paying for the lucky buggers who get the Grange. I didn't get a Grange in any of the 3 packs I ordered, so I am still sulking and feeling hard done by!! So I instantly delete these offers. I am just not lucky enough!

1 in 20 chance of getting Grange doesn't mean if you order 20 packs, you are sure to strike lucky. :)
