Will be flying J class from Sydney to Hong Kong, then onto Amsterdam. Any tips for good seat selection on either, or both legs.

SYD HKG CX 100 is an A330 and HKG AMS is a 747?

Also which lounge in HKG is better for the transfer QF First, or the CX lounge(s)?

Did the HKG - SYD leg in J on Thursday - it was possibly the best experience I have ever had in terms of comfort and service. This leg has new business and it was fantastic. I had 16K. As for the 747 I would choose a seat at the rear of the upper deck.

Enjoy the flight! I am flying CX J in a couple of weeks but on different planes. I did a search on some reviews for the best seat for my flights and think I've picked ok. You should have the new Business also on that 747 flight by what I just looked up

I think upstairs on the 747. Beds are a bit longer, and the cabin feels more private IMHO

front of the upper deck would be better - the rear is next to the loos!

Can you share where you saw 747s receiving the new business product, flyertalk has down that they will not be retro-fitted due to their impending retirement

Cathay Pacific has confirmed, presumably due to their impending retirement from the fleet, that the B747-400 and A340-300 aircraft will not be retrofitted with the Cirrus product. In other words, the Cirrus seats will only be fitted on all of Cathay's B777-300ER and Long Haul A330-300 aircraft.
