Current F Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

At SYD right now. No decanted red wine today and I've received a half pour on the (first) glass of Champagne. Also noticed there's no cotton towels in the bathroom, only paper towels.

Had a glass (... well two) of Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier 2012 from the decanter with a veggie stir fry today. Cotton towels are back in the ladies.

Any sightings / previews / news re the summer menu? I'll have stops via both SYD (breakfast only unfortunately) and MEL in the next fortnight so keen to know.

Nope, not under any sort of embargo, the menu's out, it's just a matter of timing for when media can get there. We'll run something Wednesday but I'm sure plenty here will be able to share pics of the menu and dishes a lot sooner!

I have learned to reserve judgment on a menu until actual tasting so will hold fire for now.

But have to comment on the chicken small plate. About 20 years ago in Malaysia I ordered a dish solely on the basis it came with a "strange flavour sauce". Turned out to be a quite nutty / sesame dish. On the assumption this is the same I look forward to it, and good on QF for labelling it as strange!

I spotted the 'Strange Chicken' and had to look it up. Also known as bang bang chicken. I look forward to trying it as well.

Mrs PK and I were in the SYD F lounge yesterday. She had the Corn, kale and zucchini salad and pronounced it both healthy and tasty. I had the tartine from the market inspirations section which was very good as well. The decanter wine was a 2012 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier which was drinking well.

The reports of the sale said Mr Perry would be keeping his QF consultancy. Still on the QF F menus after the sale completed, and they had "Rockpool Bar & Grill style" dishes.
