Is it still exciting after countless visits? Eggs benedict with Tattinger followed by Perrier Jouet. I have ordered some chips if they do them at this hour. Cant say it is something to look forward to for June.

One might agree with Sade when she suggests "It's never as good as the first time" but I'd beg to differ - subsequent visits still prove very enjoyable. I can't see how somebody would not find a visit to the F lounge "something to look forward to."

For me it's not only the quality food (not much of a drinker so a glass or champers or red is about all I'd have) but the whole offering including a little preflight facial, a nice place to relax before the flight and sometimes (this coming Monday among them) get some work done in one of the suites.

All up, if one enjoys travel - and I suspect we all do, here - then isn't the F lounge an enjoyable way to begin that trip?

It's a bit embarrassing but still getting excited to visit the SYD/MEL F lounges. Glad to say I'm completely over the JQ Dom runs but when flying overseas still make sure to leave a few hours for the Flounge experience.

Unfortunately I've only rarely had the opportunity to fly international in the last few years since reaching WP status, so I've only been to the F lounge once before. I'm very excited about my second visit next week and deliberately booked via SYD so I could visit again. I imagine it will be quite a few more trips before I no longer find it exciting. I hope so, anyway!

I'm also very excited about my first ever visits next week to MH F lounge in KL, and CX F lounges in HKG.

mrpooky.

I wouldn't get too excited over the MH Flounge at KL, of the three (QF, CX, MH) it comes a very distant 3rd ... although I've heard it can be very relaxing (eg empty) at times.

Consistently, the Lounges appear to be MH's worst hard-product offering.

BD

The F lounge is enjoyable and a nice way to start a holiday but the visit is not something I start planning weeks/months in advance.

Had eggs and benedict and sampled half a glass each of the 3 champagnes but after about 30 minutes was looking at clock hoping boarding was called. I was in there ~45 minutes which is just about as much as I can handle on my own.

I find huge difference in between morning and lunch/afternoon overall experience.
Breakfast menus rarely excite me. Doesn't matter if it's 5* hotel, Flounge or in the air, they're usually all the same and I'm not always in the mood for drinking at 8am...

Yeah, for me breakfast is all about the standard picks - the Bircher muesli, corn fritters, orange juice and coffee (used to love toast with Hank's triple berry jam, but that's been off the menu for some time) [the jam, not the toast!| - while the all-day menu is where I experiment with seasonal additions.

I have to agree about KUL, but LHR's not too bad.

Can't comment on the F Lounge at LHR but the J Lounge doesn't even have powerpoints - a Business Lounge without power? Also gets very crowded just prior to the one A380 departure. Tables are very close together which doesn't help.

The one saving grace is the view over the apron.

BD

A few quick further thoughts on the current menu, based on my 2nd run through Sydney.

First I had the black pepper chicken. It was very nice. Well cooked, good size, and the sweet potato and burnt hazelnut butter were fantastic. I would definitely have this again.

Then I had Chairman Mao's pork. It was decent, comfort food. A bit bland and with very basic rice. But the pork was top quality, perfectly cooked (almost melting) and once more, I would have this again without hesitation (but perhaps ask for some extra veg and chilli on the side).

I'll try and post some pics.

Trout crudo. Red Sichuan chicken. Blue Eye. Black pepper chicken. Mao pork. Plus wines.

This looks pretty good Kermatu.

Have just booked a trip to NZ for Monday so hopefully will be able to try the MEL F lounge. First visit to this lounge and only had one visit to Syd F so yes, would say I am a little bit excited.

Would not not have gone out of my way just to do it but the flight suits so why not!

It has been a long time since I have done an evening flight and I am doing CX138 in 3 weeks, so am very much looking forward to arriving a few hours before and enjoying a few courses, champers and some half decent reds.

Had the trout crudo, buffalo mozzarella, S&P squid, spaghetti, Mao pork and black pepper chicken on Friday. The pork was the standout for me.

We shared the three entrees.

I really enjoyed the chicken, and the pav. The chocolate dessert was so-so, the second pav was also pretty good

OK, I think you have sold me on the Pork, S&P and the Chicken.

Now to work out the matching wines
