Hi, Sherryle here. Still trying to learn and master this site. Can anybody advice me who they consider the best cruise company, with good deals. Looking at doing a Christmas, New Year cruise, round trip Australia and New Zealand. Would appreciate any input from any fellow cruises
Cheers

I got this site recently from one of the posters here and although I have not used it for a booking yet , I was able to run a couple of air flights that I wish to do soon and the deals were spot on.

This site has a cruise division. Check it out.

Sherryle, one of the best venues for comparative cruise information would be one of the specialist cruise boards. I'd suggest you try Cruise Critic which has dozens of options for information. Click on the Boards link at the top of the page for user opinions.

Others have reported problems dealing with Bestflights, so proceed with caution. A search of this site should find the appropriate thread.

To add to that with a bit of advice, best flights can be good to find a good fare/deal etc. and then use that to go book directly with the provider, or to find another TA to match it.

Cruiseco gives Qantas FF points for a number of cruises booked directly through it.

Cruise Critic is a great site to do all your research, read reviews and ask questions.

I have used cruisecompete.com to get the best price for our last 3 cruises (Panama Canal - 15 nights, Meditteranean - 10 nights & Transatlantic - 17 nights) with 3 different cruise lines. US travel agents will post their best fare once you advise of your exact cruise (usually with extras like on-board credit, voucher books, coughtail parties, soda cards etc) but make sure you do a little research first to make sure the agents have all the necessary documentation.

We have taken our teenage children on two of the cruises and I always arrange my own airfares and transfers.

If you have to fly to the departure city make sure you arrive a day ahead to allow for delays. It also means you are not rushed and can board the ship at lunchtime when there are no queues and the bonus is you get a free lunch!!! ;)

P&O are the dominant operator here e.g. Pacific Dawn, but I'd recommend looking at the Princess group (Diamond Princess will often travel that route at that time), RCL (Rhapsody of the Seas) or HAL (Vollendam) for something a bit nicer.

Note that those Christmas/NY cruises tend to be the dearest/most popular over the course of a year as well.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Be careful using cruisecompete.com. While its a great way to compare cruise pricing from different US agents at least one of the agents who is affiliated with them are at best dodgy and at worst absolute rip off merchants and criminals. Buyer beware and Google search before booking with any overseas agents.

Cheers
