Not sure if there is anyone who would know but have learnt never to underestimate AFF knowledge
I have a number of flights coming up this month predominantly BA Y and AY J
I could credit to either BA or IB to get Avios but would get lots more Avios with IB (would get much fewer with QR, QF etc and can't make 4 flights on AS which also credits well)
I would have enough flights to get Silver with BA or Gold with IB (both OWS equivalent). I have near zero-chance of making OWE this year with any airline

My question: Is anyone aware of any particular benefits in the BA program that would make it better to credit to?

(I am assuming that IB has no own-flight squiggle requirements as it is not mentioned anywhere)
(I have QR OWE until Dec 23 and presumably OWS until Dec 24 but getting status in the others would push out OWS for a few more months)
(I am more likely to fly on BA than IB in 2024)
(No real chance of lifetime status on BA)

Thanks

IB can be a nightmare to deal with in general. If you would earn the same status between BA and IB, I'd side with BA by far. A few avios less might be worth the lower stress.

Yeah, I almost posted earlier that I don’t recall peeps rushing to credit to IB. I would have thought sticking to QR (now that they’ve adopted Avios) would make sense otherwise BA?

Thanks for the warnings
It is about 25000 extra Avios which is probably more valuable to me than a few months extra OWS so I think I'll roll the dice with IB
I'll let you know if you get to say "I told you so" 😀

Well you did tell me so
The SYD-HKG leg didn't credit and I went round in circles with online forms, emails and eventually call centres. I'm still not 100% certain but I think the problem was that the (inexperienced) agent put the CX flight number rather than the AY codeshare flight number on the boarding pass. So no points or status credit for that flight.
I did end up taking another Y flight to UK so now do have IB Oro (OWS) until end March 25

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Not sure if this has been picked up up re Iberia but be aware..if you cancel a reward flight, you lose your Avios, not charges. Use BA which Avios you can always move over to Iberia. As a UK resident, we take a short hop over to Madrid to get to the US , separate tickets. Why ? Amazing savings on both Avios and particularly, charges compared to starting in the UK .
