I have a spare week in EU and can slot in a 7 day cruise. The choice is between MSC and Costa. Both have average reviews but I am presuming most reviews are done by Americans who have different expectations. Both itineraries are similar. I'm leaning towards Costa simply because of logistics, but would love to hear from people who have cruised on these ships.

Thanks
Maggie

I spoke with a lady from Brisbane as we were walking down the donkey steps in Santorini. I was on a Celebrity ship and she was on MSC. She was enjoying the fact that she rarely heard English spoken (ie very few Americans onboard who um, as a group tend to make their presence felt). But that also presented challenges. Italian is the language. Their ship followed us from port to port.

It did look a nice Cruiseline and they dominate the Med.

Sailed with both lines, BOTH are good prefered Costa BUT the only thing is , ALL anousments are in about 6 different languages so for example,,, say, the captains briefing is at 10 am , he says the same thing in all the different languages, not a big deal but annoying after awhile, but if I had to choose Iwould go Costa 60-40 imop.
