Noting this earlier article here on AFF: The Cost of Operating a Commercial Flight it was interesting to read SAS's inflight magazine which gives some specifics about fuel burn per seat, per kilometre.

This could be matched with the current price of jet fuel (which is what by the way?)

Here are the figures for SAS, expressed as follows: aircraft/seats/litres per seat per km:

A320neo/180 (seats)/0.023 (litres per seat per kilometre)
A319/150/0.033
A320/168/0.029
A321/200/0.028

737-6/120/0.037
737-7/141/0.032
737-8/181/0.027

A333/266/0.033
A343/247/0.039

A359/300/0.028

CRJ900/90/0.038

ATR72-6/70/0.026

Would be interesting to see the table extended with more current aircraft of interest. e.g. A380, B789, A350

The A359 is there (on order by SAS). SAS don't use A380s or B787s.

I suspect this is a bit of a SAS response to the flygskam movement.
