I have been trying to contact Fiji Airways for a few weeks without success as I have some One World Connect questions as their web site is as clear as mud.

I started by emailing their OW Connect email address which comes back as no longer in use so please use the contact form. The contact form doesn't work either. (I have tried it several times from three different browsers.)

The FB page is answered by an auto prompt that doesn't know anything.

Reservations has no idea regarding my questions but suggested I email them and they could forward it to the appropriate people. Auto response says they will get back within 48 hours but absolutely nothing.

Does anyone have another suggestion?

Maybe try their corporate office? [email protected]

The problem is that the contact us form doesn't actually connect or send. I guess the next option are some phone calls to numbers various in Fiji.

What are the oneworld connect questions you have?
Apologies for not answering.

Quite simply what are they really offering to QF status passengers? Their web page states:
"Qantas members of these respective programs must be booked on a QF flight number to be eligible to access the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge." Not a big issue as I will use Priority Pass if needed.
The only things I have been able to confirm is that we are entitled to priority checkin but we have to pay for seats if we wish to sit forward of the back 5 rows.

Now I am in Fiji the contact form works but they don't respond.

Well it's now 4 months later and still no communication from Fiji Airways. I know it's hard to believe but it seems that they are even worse than Qantas with their communication.

My upcoming flight booking says: You have to contact the call center to confirm some services. An agent will take care of this issue.
  1. I have filled in their contact form -- no response.
  2. I have emailed via One World -- no response.
  3. I have rung them with a variety of responses that vary from:
  • User busy
  • Promising a call back that never happens
  • waiting on hold forever
They are now showing as not honouring their OW/QF partnership baggage allowances but I don't really know.

@straitman I flew Fiji Airways on a QF flight number and had lounge access no problems (then again I was in J), but there were Y passengers from my flight in the lounge (who had gold coasters hanging from their hand luggage).

WRT priority check-in, if you are staying at any of the major resorts there will be a Fiji Airways check-in desk at the hotel and you can check in there no waiting and they will issue boarding passes and transfer your luggage to NAD, so al you have to do when you arrive is clear security (there was no priority line as only 1 lane open) and head to the lounge.

Yep happy with all that. My issue is baggage allowance as they have removed all reference to honouring Qantas and/or One World baggage allowances and also that my booking specifically states: You have to contact the call center to confirm some services. An agent will take care of this issue.
The main issue for us is the baggage as we always take extra bags of clothes etc for our Fiji friends. Do we arrive with extra and risk it, do we prepay extra baggage or is it still OK for us to have extra per our OW/QF status?
They are happily promoting themselves as the first OW Connect member but actually or seemingly giving nothing in way of the OW benefits other than lounge access. They are even charging for seat selection.
Unfortunately we need to fly with FJ to burn up some long standing credits with them.

I finally got a call back from Fiji Airways. 😁. (It only took 6 months)

A very polite conversation which essentially confirmed that:
  1. They are proud of their One World Connect status,
  2. If you book on a Qantas ticket they will honour Qantas specific entitlements,
  3. If you book on a Fiji Airways ticket they do not honour any One World status or entitlements including baggage and lounge access.
  4. They have no plans to change back and honour these entitlements.
The significant issue with this is that a Qantas codeshare booking is normally significantly more expensive than booking direct with Fiji Airways.

Until now we have tended to book direct with Fiji Airways as Qantas bookings on the same flight are considerably more expensive. This means that for our upcoming trip we need to either pay $FJ232 in excess baggage or leave behind some items that we are/were planning to donate to people in the villages.

Going forward it seems like Virgin Australia has become a better and/or preferred option and that I'll actually get to use my Priority Pass membership which will then give us access to the Fiji Airways lounge.
