I expect not.. but on the Aadvantage site it says "Miles are also earned on QF codeshare flights"..

...and the only proviso is about J*..

What say the experts?

Suck it and see I reckon ...

Although the oneworld inference would be for restricted earnings one such codeshares, AA's systems are renowned for not being sophisticated enough to tell the difference.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks.. I'll check out the FT thread...

Actually expected more discussion on this here than there!

On a similar topic, can I use AAdvantage points to book a reward ticket on a QF codeshare flight (ie Emirates metal)?
Thanks in advance

No you can't.... sorry to burst your bubble.

Anecdotally, a client from NY flew QF SYD-LHR using EK metal and credited successfully to AAdvantage recently. So it's possible.

Apparently you can book QF1 or QF2 as it's not considered a stopover in the middle east and just a refueling or similar. I guess that those are Qantas operated however
