Companion Sales - Discrimination?

Re: Spring in to the First Lounge

Can this stuff be split off into a separate thread please Mods?
It has nothing to do with the new Spring menu.

FWIW I'm in a very similar position to JohnK, not single but frequently travel alone.
I don't feel discriminated against and I doubt it's poor marketing from the point of view of Qantas and the other airlines that regularly have companion fares.
It obviously gets bums on seats even if it might alienate a portion of their customers who feel discriminated against.

Re: Spring in to the First Lounge

In all fairness mannej I feel the point is valid. I am no longer single but excluded from the sale because I travel solo. I am a single traveller. I travel more often than most yet Qantas sees fit to exclude me from these sales. It is discriminatory. It alienates. It is poor marketing.

That's just my opinion.

By definition you are not single JohnK.

Those who travel solo are discriminated against but they can be of any persuasion relationship wise, so those who are single are not being discriminated against exclusively here.

There are no arguments as to the fact that 2 for 1 companion deals to discriminate, but I was playing the semantics card in my response to you.
