Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing some new luggage and have come across this mob in Australia: w!ww.luggagestore.com.au (remove '!', low post count...)

They have the Qantas Heathrow large cabin roller priced at $110 versus $170 from the Qantas Shop.

Their prices seem to be better than others and include free shipping for orders above $80.

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with them? I would hate to buy and for it to turn out as one of those "too good to be true" purchases..

Cheers!

I'll email The Luggage Professionals and see if they will beat Luggage Store's price even though they are the same.

Thanks for that, cheers!

I used the luggage professionals last week and they were fantastic. Great service, first class product... The will even beat the price by a further 5%... so shop around, find the best price then call them... I recieved my luggage next day delivered to my door...

I'll second this comment. I got a travel wallet a couple of months ago from the luggage professionals and they were quick, kept me updated with emails, and delivered right on time. Even better they were 50% below RRP when I got mine!!

If they come close with price, go with the luggage professionals.

Cheers,

Boof

Another plus for the luggage professionals. Bought my Werks luggage through them 2 years ago.

The site seems dodgy but they are easy to deal with, quick, and keep you informed.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Also consider Luggage Direct . I've bought stuff from them in the past and their service is excellent, as are their prices (from what i've seen).

Thanks Michael. Would be great if you stocked Tumi!

Cheers,

we have bought some stuff through luggage professionals as well and were very happy with the service and the range they carry. Even if they don't have it in the Sydney store they will check with the other stores and get it to Sydney for you.

Jobu,

Tumi is a great brand however we have chosen to stock Victorinox at that price point But we are always open to stocking new brands and products. Thanks for the feedback.

Ozmille,
great to hear another satisfied customer, we will always endevour to get the right product for the customer so weather that be from our Melbourne store or a competitor(we have been known to send customers to our competitors):D we think it will pay off in the long run looking after our customers.

Had our first purchase from an AFF member about an hour after my post yesterday so glad to be giving back to this great community.

Thanks
Michael

Just made two purchases with luggagestore.com.au in the past week. Purchased a 55cm Samsonite B-Lite carry on case and liked it so much that I ordered another one. Price was excellent $140 (although have now gone up to $160), free postage and regular updates on status of order, tracking was also available through Australia Post e-parcel. Would definetely use them again.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I am looking at doing my next trip HLO

Gorbo,

Can you either PM me or let people know here what case would be the biggest i could use for Hand Luggage

Will be SYD-LAX QF J, and then AA Y LAX-LOS and then AA F LOS-LAX (Total 8-9 days)

i dont really need another bag as i have enough at the moment, but if i am going HLO then i need something i can put a pair of size 13 shoes without filling 50-60% of the case.

Thanks
Fuzz

Hi Fuzz,

Got to be careful with hand luggage as virgin have different sizes compared to the other carriers and because of this some manufacturers have altered their cabin sizes to accomodate(some being smaller), biggest is the victorinox 20" werks 4.0 which has just been released and you will find on our website dont think our competitors have it up yet. Cant link as not enough post.

Hopefully enjoy some sun and J annd F should make the journey easier.

No problems in answering questions

Kind Regards
Michael

Your standard 105cm roll aboard would do the trick for that journey - you can also take a "Personal Item" such as a normal size Laptop Case.

Turn your size 13's into holders. I roll my 'smalls' together in a plastic bag, making a 'tube' out of it , and place this inside one of my size 11 shoes. The whole lot gets put into another plastic bag. For the other shoe I pack whatever else will comfortably fit in a similar manner. This helps the shoes keep their shape as well.

Oh i fill the shoes with socks/undies etc.. but its all the space around them that is hard to find things to pack into.

What do people think i could get away with in regards to weight? 10-12kg? will also be taking my laptop bag that has a bit of room.

Thanks
Fuzz

Generally I can deal with up to 10kg, but little more.

The collapsible hand hold structure make some longitudinal grooves in my rollaboard and the shoes tend to fit neatly within them on their side. I tend to align "heels at the wheels" to keep the centre of gravity lower.
