Hi all, has anyone had recent experience with this type of scenario?

6 family members travelling to Milan from Sydney economy.
Can we pool our 20kg luggage limits and have multiple check in bags?
Total would be 8 checked bags, 2 with snowboards about 20kg each.
That would leave us with 6 bags totalling 80kg, for arguments sake say 13kg for each bag (78kg).

Or is it fixed at 20kg per person no pooling? Meaning 2 board bags and 6 of us living out of 4 bags at 20kg/bag.

Cheers

This may a bit late, but I had no issues doing this when I return from PEK to SYD. 3 people in my group, not family members, and they pooled our luggage together.

I was flying by myself before and I was over the limit but the lady was nice enough to let me over a few kg's at no charge.

I guess it depends on the person you get at the counter.

Thanks gojun

Yes I got conformation from Cathay Pacific that pooling is fine as long as the heaviest bag does not exceed 32kg

Cheers
