QF/EK costs. Hi I am flying next March from Brisbane to Dubai to Lisbon business class x2. Return On a 380 code share flight. It came back as booked under EK which I changed to QF now the cost has increased by $2200 pp? Is the normal case because I have changed my carrier on the same flight?

Very common that the operators flight (EK EK)will be cheaper than a codeshare (QF marketed EK operated).
Uncommon to be the other way round, but can happen. (fare buckets)
Where airlines have a route that is a joint venture cost can be same. But limited by fare buckets for each airline

Thank you very annoying, I think I'll claim the Skyward points instead of paying another $4400!!
You can get QF ff points flying EK marketed(flight number) - EK operated. But less than if a QF flight number.
Orphan freq flyer accounts with few miles/points are of little value. Tend never get enough to be able to use and/or expire

Good thinking, do I try and claim the points after the trip or is there some way of putting my FF number on the EK booking?
