If you are ever visit south-western Westen Australia, and fancy a unique and special experience, stay at The Lily Dutch Windmill near Amelup and sleep in a historic DC-3/C-47.

HISTORY in a nutshell

“Our plane was built in 1943/44 in Long Beach California and was issued to the Netherlands East Indies Transport Section, based in Brisbane, Queensland, where it was used for transport duties on behalf of the Royal Dutch Indonesian Airways (KNILM). The aircraft operated supply flights for Dutch military units, and later airlifted liberated Dutch POWs from New Guinea to Australia. After the war many Dakotas were sold to the commercial airlines around the world.”
