Clearing airport controls

Just been reading some articles on Australian Frequent Flyer. One caught my attention. At Berlin airport you can now book a time to go through security clearance thus avoiding queues. But you need a boarding pass and QR code. How do you get a QR code. Do you get this as part of the booking process. As someone who has not travelled overseas in the last 25 years I am not up to date with travel and airport security. Any light you can throw on this would be most welcome.

Here’s a link to Berlin airport and how to book a security time: A time slot for security control

I can only get through to the first page where it’s asking to enter flight details. By the looks of it they will guide you through the process.

The operative word seems to be that this is ‘optional’. If you don’t have access to a smartphone you can use the regular security clearance.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes I read in detail alll relevant information. But there was no mention of how you get the QR code. That’s the problem. And tried looking at the airports web site for help and that doesn’t seem to be available for the general public.

I’m assuming the QR code will be issued as an outcome of the registration process.

You enter in your flight details, it accepts your preferred security time, and as part of the confirmation you are issued a QR code.

I wouldn’t be overly concerned… just turning up will have the same outcome.
