Quick question - we have eaten at a restaurant listed on the Q Web site as one where you earn points. However each time they say their Q swipe machine isn't working. I went online just now to find out how to claim the points and it says no retrospective claims. Does anyone know an email address I can contact Q about this?

No swipe no claim I believe it is. All you can really do is report the Restaurant to QF and let them know. The 'machine not working' is often used as an excuse we've found.

Name and shame - there have been quite a few restaurants that try to avoid the cost of diners getting QFF points even though they advertise.

There's dedicated thread on this:

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thoroughly agree. It's damn fraud -- or certainly misrepresentation -- that these guys purport to offer something and then pretend they can't. It's rotten behaviour and they should be punished for their dishonesty through avoidance, aided by name and shame.

Bummer! Food was good at least. It was Pod Food in Pialligo. I'd go there again for the food but its a shame about the points. They are definitely on the Qantas web site though.

How long does it normally take for the points to be awarded? I dined at Wildfire in Sydney on the 1st of September and am still waiting on the points.

I am afraid they did the same thing to me a few weeks back; promised to try and process them manually but I am yet to follow up -- which I will.

Type restaurant claim in the email subject line and email scanned copies of the tax invoice to QF customer care with an explanation. The points usually appear on your next summary. Keep a copy of your email for future reference. I found this out after getting an initial response of, no swipe, no points.
