Just a quick question about retroactive points claims. I flew Alaska airlines SEA-ORD and am wondering if its possible to claim AA points without needing to fax internationally. Is this possible?

I had success with crediting some QF domestic flights that didn't seem to make it on using the link in the above posts. It did take several weeks to process and I didn't get any confirmation, they just ended up in my account after about 4-6 weeks.

Hi all, have somewhat of a first world problem in that my AA miles are about to expire due to no earning activity in the past 18 months. My next travel/car hire activity occurs a few days after expiry and they won't provide an extension. They've also now introduced a $35 processing fee when one buys miles, which makes the lowest purchase of 1,000 points somewhat expensive at US$65 ($29.50 for 1,000 + $35 processing fee!). Does anyone have any clever suggestions on any non-travel-relating points earning tips via affiliate programs or the like?

Use Aadvantage e shopping. Sorry can't post link but google it. Any purchase over $1 should earn you at least 1 mile and 18 more months...

Although be warned, these can sometimes take months to post, if at all...

Although more expensive, you can send flowers through FTD to someone and get more miles than if you just bought them outright.

Alternatively, if you have points in other programs, you might be able to swap them to AA on points.com.

I bought flowers from 1800 flowers from a direct link on the AA website and the points posted within 2 weeks.

I have also done it twice. Once at 25mpd and the other at 30mpd, each have posted within 2 weeks.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I have until the 31st November so the flowers or the eShopping site may be an option...I am concerned that it takes a couple of weeks for points to post though, as I doubt they'd reinstate expired points if they are late being transferred across.

Reference point. I placed an order on FTD on the 06th of Nov. The 3,900 miles posted today.
