My current Citibank CC expires 09/14 - next month. It seems Citibank decided to mail out its replacement on 6th August. On 8th August I started a trip, unaware that a new card was on the way and leaving home too early for the post that day.

The problem is Citibank decided to cancel the old card on 6th August.

At my destination, on the 8th August, my card was declined. At several places of course. Just when I really needed it! I'm a long way from home and away for a week.

Thanks Citibank.

Long phone calls. Nothing much they can do except cancel the new card and mail another to my temporary address. Which might arrive sometime next week.

I always take another card or two but this seems to be a silly practice, Citibank.

Got the replacement card today. It was sent by courier but still didn't arrive until Wednesday. Then you need to activate the card and go on-line to set the PIN.

Citi's mobile site doesn't have the PIN change option and doesn't have a "use full site" option. But I managed to get to the full site eventually to set the PIN.

At least I have a working card again!
