Bonus Qantas Points Earn in Shop promotion: Bonus Qantas Points offer is only available to Qantas Frequent Flyer members who receive an email communication indicating they are eligible for this offer. Bonus Qantas Points will be awarded if between 1 December and 31 December 2014, the member has (1) registered via the button in the email communication and (2) earned Qantas Points in the ‘shopping’ icon, equal to or above the value required to earn bonus points as communicated in the email communication to the member. Members can only earn bonus Qantas Points once during the promotion period. Bonus points earned during the Promotion Period will be credited to the members account by 31 January 2015. With this promo one was offered bonus points:

You've got until 31 December 2014 to earn xx_X points with our shopping partners and you'll receive YYYY bonus points. Plus, you'll go in the draw to win Business flights to your favourite Qantas destination[SUP]^[/SUP].

Sounds good. But each time I have bought online it has stated...Thank you for visiting Qantas Frequent Flyer’s Online Mall and shopping with eBay. Your Qantas Points are now on their way, so they’ll be appearing in your account soon (30 days from purchase). In many cases this message takes days to show up.

Now according to the T&C above one needs to
(2) earned Qantas Points in the ‘shopping’ icon, So points take 30 days to show up, but promotion only runs from Dec 1 to 31!!!! Ergo unless you shopped online on Dec 1, any spend through the online mall is not going to assist in qualifying one for the bonus points as they will not arrive on the shopping icon till after Dec 31.


Now I may qualify with shopping at Woolworths via my everyday rewards, but that is not the point.
Shopping online was meant to be able to qualify one. My daughter for example has shopped online enough to qualify except that the 30 period that it takes for points to post will see the points arriving uselessly for the promo in Jan. She has not qualified via Woolworths, and would not have the spend to do so. .


Am I ready the T&C incorrectly, or has Qantas misled us? Has Qantas induced us to try and qualify by online shopping throughout December knowing full well that the spending after Dec 1 would not actually count, and even on Dec 1 that unless the online store actioned the spend with QFF on that day, that even that would be too late.

If it's anything like the Aquire bonus (10k bonus if you spend with a new partner in October, though the points were not credited by the partner until Nov/Dec in most cases) then it'll be credited retrospectively.

(My emphasis on Earned). It could always be possible to argue that they were earned in December, though as usual, they're credited after the earn date. Half of the posts in the QFF Sub Topic are about delays between 'earning' and 'crediting'.
 
I saw that when I first got the email, but thought I would take a bite by shopping at DJ and see what transpires.

However while you have indicated that all bonus points will be credited by Jan 31:

Double Qantas Points will be awarded for every valid purchase (no minimum spend) with retailers via the Online Mall between 31 Oct 14 and 31 Dec 14. Bonus points earned during the Promotion Period will be credited to the member’s account up to 12 weeks after the purchase.
I will have enough points anyway without the Double Points. However my wife and daughter may not without it. I will monitor their accounts and if they do not hit their targets by Jan 31 I will use the contact details you have provided to flag the issue.

Ah yes, my bonus points have hot too this morning, along with some EBAY points for a shop in early Sept! Definitely sounds like they have had a problem they have now fixed to me!
 
Ditto....... never bothered with the fine print as above..life is too short!! Got mine without any worry:)
