I received an e-mail from Avis offering 5,000 points for joining Choice Privileges. Linked website:

https://deals.choicehotels.com.au/cp_offer.html

Did anyone else receive this? Is it worth it? Availability? I occasionally stay at Choice hotels, but not often.

From looking at their terms, it looks like:

- 5,000 is just short a free one night stay (min. 6,000 points)
- 5 points per USD for stays in Oz, so 2 nights stay at ~$110 per night should earn enough points to allow a free one stay
- alternatively, points can be purchased for US$11 per 1,000
- Points expire after 2 years
- Stays can earn QFF or VFF points

Anything I've missed? I guess it's free, so can't hurt!

So it sounds like for US $11 you can get a free night and you do occasionally use them, sounds a no brainier to me!
