Hey gang,

Hope everyone is getting ready for the New Year!

2 quick questions that might save me 2 phone calls haha, and if not I will call and report back in the NY.

1. How long does it take for mileage travelled on flights booked directly on China Airlines take to show up on your China Airlines membership account?
2. If I was to book China Airlines flights (non rewards, as rewards doesn't count) through Qantas, does the mileage or ticket type count towards China Airlines miles? Does this then also become an eligible flight from a qantas point of view and double dip into their status credit + QFF points?

Cheers

Can’t answer #1.

But on #2 you can’t double dip, no. You credit to one program only. It will only count as an eligible flight on the program you credit to.

just a note for China Airlines to be incredibly careful that the name you use for the ticket matches FF account name _exactly_. That might sound "duh, of course" but the issue is if your account has a middle name but the booking site doesn't ask for a middle name, or vice versa. I've had mine denied years ago, and a few other people have had the same problem recently. (As much as I love their crew, I can't speak highly enough of the NZ and SYD team, I'm less a fan of the people on the office side who deny these things, even with supporting evidence that you're the same person - as advised to submit by their staff)
