Hi all, sorry to bother you with what is probably a simple query but I have searched and can't find the answer.

I am flying QF0029 to London on 29/4 and have been allocated a seat which I can see on both the Qantas website and checkmytrip.

The return trip is on QF010 from London to Melbourne on 8/5 however checkmytrip does not show which seat I am allocated.

I don't understand ... why would my seat show on one leg and not the other?

Maybe they have already or are expecting an aircraft change, eg to a 4 class 744 instead of 3 class, or the reverse.

while we're on this topic, is it usual that AA flights don't show seating on checkmytrip.com even though if you know which seats you have, they are blanked out when looking at the seat map of available seats via the aa.com booking engine.

It's possible someone masde a mistake. I would call Qantas and ask.

FWIW, both your QF29 and QF10 is showing as quite 'empty' with S & Q class available (as well as O & X on QF10) so as an SG, you should have no problem fixing this.

I think that the problem here is that they won't give pre-allocation to a Seal. They have to travel in the cargo hold ;)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Wouln't a seal want to fly CX so they can get Haagen-das served as desert for cargo hold passangers ? ;)

lol ... sorry for the spelling error. By the time I realised and tried to edit the post, it would only let me change the message - not the title!

Thanks for the info, I will give the airline a call and see if they can fix it. I'm in 37G on QF29 so given it is quite an empty flight (thanks Serfty) I might actually get a free seat next to me.

Would it be that QF010 is code-share with BA7310, despite being Qantas metal, that they won't allocate until 24 hours before departure so as not to disadvantage the BA passengers?

That's probably your why you have been given no preselection!

Given that bit of information re BA7310 it's easily solved and you probably don't even need to call.

Your profile indicates FF GOld so I presume you are QF SG (oneworld sapphire). This means you are eligible for seat pre-selection > 25 hours before the flight.

If your status is in the booking correctly, simply take your Amadeus booking reference and plug it and your surname into BA.com Manage My Booking, then click "Find Booking".

You should then be able to select seating on-line (even though it's on QF metal). :D

From my experience seat allocations for AA flights do not show on CheckMyTrip even though seats were allocated and I could see them when logging on to AA.
