Hello all,
I'm booking a HKG-SIN SQ flight which arrives SIN at night. I would like to travel to KUL the next morning. Can I check one bag through from HKG to KUL and another just to SIN, so I can repack/add stuff to KUL?

If so, I have a choice of airlines from SIN to KUL - AK, SQ, MI, 3K, MH, TR. Would all of them allow the above?

Thanks!

You can ask the staff at check-in to check one of the bags to SIN only. It's perfectly legitimate if you have an overnight stay that you want access to clothes!

You would recheck the bag the next day at the relevant check-in counter.

Thanks. Would the other bag make it to KUL if I fly AK for that leg? Or must it be SQ/MI?
Also they would be on separate PNRs.

They may not interline or at least may not want to do it on separate PNRs.

Just know that one of your options is to check both pieces luggage through to SIN only and from there you have 2 options.

- Collect both bags and take one of them with you and leave the other one at left luggage to pick up again in the morning. Cost is only SGD4-5 per day for standard luggage.
- Or collect the bag you need and leave the other bag on carousel to go through to lost luggage. In the morning go and claim your bag from lost luggage.

I have let my bags go through to lost luggage on more than one occasion and I have never had an issue. No questions asked.

I believe is the KUL flight is on SQ you can check luggage at SIN up to two days before ... so no need for left luggage in that case.

Thanks all. Have booked SIN-KUL on MH as it was cheaper to fly SIN-KUL-PER on MH than just KUL-PER... (is this called hidden city routing??)
So will take all baggage off the SQ flight, go home and check it in to MH the following morning.
