check your luggage tags when flying BA

just flew MIA to CPH via LHR on BA

at check in was ok, dropped my bags off, didn't get an priority tags as a WP.
was flying in Y

got to CPH, first bag came out, 20mins later nothing, went to claims and then I read my
baggage receipt. bag1 LHR & CPH. bag2 LHR... only
bag is now en route to my location

so my check in agent at MIA had set me up.
just not sure how he could have made this mistake.

from now on I will always check, no matter what airline

does BA not give OW emerald, prority tags??

Was it a single booking for MIA to CPH via LHR on BA or separate tickets?

If a single booking that surprises me as the check through to CPH should have been automatic.

it is part of my QF multi city booking... so single, as I said one bag made it and the other didn't...

sucks about one world not giving priority...

BA haven't had priority baggage on short haul Europe for some time, if I recall it stopped about the time they moved to T5.

However the OP's core issue seems to be the check-in agent made a mistake by miss tagging a bag. Doubt mistakes like this are unique to BA, so maybe the headline should be always check your bag tag regardless of who you are flying rather than single out BA.

i did LHR to FCO in March. i could be wrong but i think i did get priority tag. i did check in at the First check-in desk in T3.

Sometimes they will put on a tag, especially if they want to avoid an argument with an Australian! I also found going into London my bag was tagged 90% of the time, but came out with the rest. But as I said priority baggage is NOT offered on Europe service.

PS didn't know you could check in at T3 for a flight to FCO, would have thought you would be expected to make your way to T5.

This ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ is the main issue. "bag1 LHR & CPH. bag2 LHR... only"

I really don't know how the check-in agent managed to pull this one off unknowingly as it is generally an automated process - they would just about have to interfere to do this.
