Check your credit card for LifeMiles transactions

To participate in the 100% bonus on transfers, I purchased 1,000 miles, then transferred back and forth with my wife. Checking my credit card statements, there were additional transactions showing. There was an amount of US$30 28degrees card on which the transaction failed, an additional US$15 on Westpac Visa. I wrote to LM & sent them copies of the relevant statements - still waiting. I had made transactions up to 16,000 miles in one account before the statement date, and then a few days later, made additional transfers to take me up to 74,000 and my wife up to 75,000. Today, I checked my CC on line & found that the total charges on Westpac are US$2250. Now my maths says that for that amount I should have received a total of 299,000 miles. The correct charge should be US$1140 ($30 for the 1st 1,000, and $1,110 for the remaining 148,000). The amounts are not posted in the sequence they were purchased, so it is very hard to see where the problem lies. Once again I've sent the details to LM & am waiting the response.

Each 1k transferred costs $15 but the deal was get 2 for every 1 transferred. It effectively made the cost 0.75 cents per mile. The PURCHASE price is $30 per 1,000, but the normal TRANSFER cost is $15 per 1,000. The deal effectively made the price 1/2 that.

Sorry to tell you this but every 1k points transferred only produces a surplus of 1k points: for $15. So its the same price as buying them when they are 2 for 1.

When you transfer miles you are not buying them, you are using your own miles, and the bonus is $15 per 1000. As explained on Flyertalk and here, your maths is lacking correlation to reality.

Is there a cap on the number that can be transferred at once? I'm just trying to run through the calculation and I'm up to $2310.

Edit: ok I worked it out without transfer cap and $2250 is correct. I think the key thing is it's a 100% bonus not a 200% bonus.
