CHC PER flights to begin.

Direct flights between Christchurch and Perth will be introduced next summer.


The service is being introduced for 21 weeks and will need to prove itself for a longer run.


Air New Zealand, in partnership with Virgin Australia, will introduce a twice-weekly direct service in early December, and it will run until late April.


Tourism bosses have welcomed the trial run, saying it will be important for Canterbury as it recovers from the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes, which saw trans-Tasman airline seat capacity shrink by about 20 per cent.

I'd have thought NZ as the 738 doesn't have the legs, and no 330s to spare.
