It really depends upon your booking class, the attitude of the person manning the service desk, the phase of the moon etc..IIRC people requesting a change of flight have a greater chance of success in the J lounge. Can anyone confirm this?
I'm hoping to move a MEL-SYD flight forward and spend longer in the Flounge.
That would be you basic "Flow Forward" where on busy days QF don't see 10 flights, they see 2000 seats ...Don't know,, but I was booked on the 5pm to Sydney on Wednesday, got to the airport at 4 and the check in kiosk said that there was a 4:30 flight with a seat available if I wanted it.. just meant that I had to take the only remaining seat in J which was aisle.. for the short flight didn't make any difference so I took it.
