We have a booking on LA800 (SYD-AKL) on Monday 28th June that we need to change.

I have rung LAN on several occasions over the last few days but they say there is a problem with the booking that they need to sort out before they are able to make the change. I have given a new date and seat preference but the booking still shows as next Monday.

My concern is that as the booking is imminent, how do I ensure that it gets changed in time and/or is there anything else I can or should do:?:

I can't think of anything else you can do. I'm assuming you booked it online with Lan directly, so there probably isn't anyone else who can touch the booking.

So calling back and pestering is about all I can suggest. Their physical ticket office (or airport agent) might be able to help, but assume there are no agents in MEL.

Out of curiosity, where is their call centre based, and did they indicate what problem the booking had? (something like booked in $USD and they needed to get somewhere else in Lan to deal with it or something? )

-- Edit:
There is a Melbourne CBD location according to the Whitepages:
310 King St
Melbourne VIC 3000

Not sure which representative they are, as they seem to represent quite a few airlines.

But generally, I still can't think of any other option except calling the call centre back and harassing them. Make sure you document the calls, as there is the minor chance of you being flagged as a 'no show' on Monday if your request falls out of their queue. That would be fun to sort out...

Hopefully you can pester them enough to get a change.

I guess SE OZ; is better than putting Sale in location.

When I log on to the QF web site it now shows we have two bookings. One for the original date (next Monday) and one for the alternate date that I asked for. The both show as confirmed and both have seat allocations.

The wonders of airline computer systems.

Yeah, I knew he lived a distance away from MEL, but it was another possible option if for some reason was around there. Better than suggesting visiting the SYD ticket desk ;)

I think it will sort itself out. Perhaps you'll even get double SC's :)

Well it looks like they still expect us to be on this flight tomorrow.

I just received an email about tomorrows flight: We inform you that your flight LA800 of 28JUN departing from SYDNEY with destination to AUCKLAND has been delayed due to operational reasons.

The new departure time is at 12:35 on 28JUN.

We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may cause you.

Sincerely yours,

LAN

I guess I will try to ring the Sydney number (again) at 09:00 tomorrow.
