Changes to BA award redemptions

Reading the table - Sydney to London via Singapore is still classic award rates. But if you need to add on Hobart to Sydney return as based in Tasmania how does that price? Do you just get the domestic trip included in the points price or it is an extra award?

I so wish I could earn AAdvantage miles on an Australian credit card.

Dale.

Thats the situation as it stands today, not eff Sept1. It would be 75000 miles in Y one way for the Sydney-Sin-LHR redemption unless BA have the HBA- SYD as a codeshare where that would be included.

Just got the detail in the monthly statement email.......I can live with a 5,000 point (one way) increase for trips to SIN to ensure I get a flat bed.

Re: QFF Devaluations Continue - BA redemption rates go up

Was always going to happen after the JSA ended, at least anyone who wishes to redeem at the cheaper levels has 4 months to do so :)

Re: QFF Devaluations Continue - BA redemption rates go up

I think everyone could see this coming... just surprised they actually gave so much notice.

Re: QFF Devaluations Continue - BA redemption rates go up

The cynic in me sees this as a double-whammy. A random search 6 months out for a MEL/LHR/MEL returns 6 options outbound with 5 of those having at least 1 BA segment (the other is wholly CX). I don't count any segments where the ubiquitous [!] makes an umwelcome appearance.

For a while now I've suspected that, for popular routes, QFF force redemptions away from QF so that QF can reap $$$ revenue. I don't see this mix changing when the new rates come in ... more likely to see more of the same, I'd say. Where are all the EK options??

I'm sure that in QF-speak, this is the beauty of "choice".

Regards,

BD
