Hi all. I had booked a QR flight SIN - DOH - FCO in J and then return. The flight that was booked from SIN was cancelled, and QR booked us on another QR flight the same day. This meant that our flight from DOH to FCO was also changed.
However, when checking seat allocation for the DOH to FCO flight, there are no business class seats available. On phoning Qatar, they jave informed us that they will inform us 48hours before the flight of seat allocation. I am assuming they are waiting for othrr J customers to cancel their booking.
Shoud I be worried? At this stage it looks like only Y seats available. If i dont get what i booked, what are my entitlements to some form of compensation?
Thanks in advance

QR prides itself on customer service, especially got J and F, so I'd be hopeful of a decent resolution. My experience of similar a few years ago got me seated OK. Can't help with the compo issue, sorry.

I'm not sure I agree with this statement. I'd so they pride themselves onboard with J and F service. On the ground dealing with issues etc, I've found it to be average at best (when travelling in J).

I was just about to amend my post!! Agree - on board (and I'd at the Lounges) excellent. I'd believe that their call centre wouldn't be great, but then I've never used them - my TA looks after any issues :)

I've had to push the proverbial uphill with a stick at the lounge front desk when dealing with an issue.

Good news. Seats have now become available. Yippee!
On another point, we are travelling "lite" business class, which I know has some limitations in terms of lounge access. In Doha, what lounge(s) will I have access to? I am oneworld emerald.
Thanks in advance

Just a small thread hijack - i had a 2hr and a bit transit in Doha on Qatar airlines flying from UK into Asia, but due to a schedule change they added 3.5hrs so now i am stuck in their airport for 6 hours from midnight to 6am - cant even sneak out to find a bar, will be last drinks by the time i find one.

This delay has totally stuffed up my plans at the next stop.

I have booked Qatar Airways, on Qantas points, so what might I be reasonable in asking for (and getting)?
I plan to hit up Qatar customer service when i am in transit there on the outbound leg rather than call Qantas about it, probably get nothing there.

I think you'll be directed to the 'Qatar Airways Business Lounge' (about the standard of a Qantas Club) not the Al Mourjan Lounge. QR doesn't follow OW rules in allowing Emeralds into its business lounge.

To be honest, I don't think you'll get far, especially at the airport. An extended transit by a few hours isn't such a big deal. There is an (expensive) hotel airside - Oryx.

Many thanks. Anything but the terminal floor will be fine!

Good news...I got into the Al Mourjan lounge. Wow! What space. But lacking in the number of showers needed for a transit airpirt of this size
