Just wanted to know what my options are.
I have a domestic flight in Vietnam next month. Flights were booked ages ago, and holiday plans based around them.
Just received email notice that they need to change my flight to one that is more than 6 hours earlier.
(To be clear, it looks like an operational change, as the new earlier flight has the same flight number)
While this isn't the end of the world (thankfully, it wasn't connecting to an international leg), it does throw a spanner into our plans.
- We will not be able to attend a pre-purchased tour.
- We will need to pay extra for early checkin at the hotel.
- We actually chose the more expensive afternoon flight specifically, despite cheaper morning flights being available previously.
Whilst relatively minor, it is still a hassle they have put us in. What are the chances that they will agree to any of the following?
- Refund the cost of the tour (2 x $100USD) and whatever the cost for an early hotel check in would be (No hope, so moving on...)
- Offer a $50AUD travel voucher?
- Bump up my 'Plus bundle' to a 'Max bundle'?
- Fully refund the flight, so I can book with another carrier at a suitable time?
- Laugh in my face. Flights are always subject to change.
FWIW: After these flights, I was going to be 10SP short from reaching QFF Platinum. The upgrade to the 'Max bundle' would cover this amount exactly. This is as far down the list as I would like to go...
